That force is artificial intelligence.

If, however, humanity develops a higher level of consciousness grounded in unity, responsibility, and service, AI could become one of the most powerful instruments for the development of civilization.
The challenge of artificial intelligence is therefore not only technological.
It is also, fundamentally, anthropological and spiritual.
The Spiritual Dimension of Human History
Throughout history, religious traditions have spoken of an invisible dimension that influences human beings.
The Apostle Paul wrote:
“Our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the spiritual forces of evil.”
Christ spoke of a world lying under the power of evil.
These words can be understood not only as moral warnings, but also as pointing toward a deeper reality: the human being is not an entirely autonomous or internally unified being. Human consciousness is constantly influenced by different forces, ideas, impulses, and spiritual states.
A person can become a bearer of both creative and destructive impulses.
This is also why Christ said:
“Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.”
The fundamental problem of humanity therefore lies not simply in the imperfection of political systems, but in the state of human consciousness itself.
As long as the human being remains internally divided, that division will inevitably be reproduced in the external world.
Why the Present Crisis Is a Turning Point
The modern world is experiencing several global processes simultaneously:
- a crisis of the old world order;
- competition and conflict between different civilizational models;
- the rapid development of artificial intelligence;
- the erosion of established value systems;
- the search for a new model of the future.
Together, these processes may indicate the end of one historical era and the beginning of another.
History shows that transitions between eras have often been accompanied by profound crises and upheavals.
Humanity once again finds itself at a point of choice.
Either technology will dramatically amplify existing forms of division and contribute to a global civilizational crisis,
or humanity will move toward a new level of consciousness in which cooperation, unity, and responsibility become foundations for further development.
Artificial Intelligence as a Test for Humanity
AI is becoming a kind of mirror for humanity.
It compels us to confront fundamental questions:
- What is a human being?
- What is the purpose of civilization?
- What values should guide humanity?
- What does development truly mean?
- What purpose should superintelligence ultimately serve?
Until now, humanity could postpone answering these questions.
That may no longer be possible.
The emergence of artificial intelligence is transforming philosophical and spiritual questions into questions of practical survival.
For the first time in history, the future of the human species may directly depend on the inner maturity of humanity itself.
The Need for a New Methodology of Human Development
If the deeper problem lies within the human being, technical approaches to AI safety alone will not be sufficient.
Humanity also needs a comprehensive methodology for the development of consciousness.
A methodology capable of helping human beings:
- move beyond egocentrism;
- expand their perspective from the individual to the planetary;
- learn to perceive humanity as an interconnected whole;
- unite scientific progress with ethical responsibility;
- develop qualities of consciousness that enable artificial intelligence to be used for the benefit of humanity.
The question of the future of artificial intelligence therefore becomes inseparable from the question of the future of the human being.
A New Stage of Human History
Today, we stand not only before a technological revolution.
We may also be approaching a transition to a new stage of human development.
The central question of the 21st century is no longer simply:
“How powerful will artificial intelligence become?”
The deeper question is:
“Will humanity become mature enough to use safely the power it is creating?”
The central risk of AI is not simply that a machine might somehow become “evil” on its own.
The deeper risk is that artificial intelligence may scale the immaturity of human consciousness to a planetary level.
The answer to this challenge may determine more than the fate of individual states or civilizations.
It may help determine the future of humanity itself.
